Welcome to the film project “It starts with the Children”!

We would like to know your opinion on 8 questions, which can be found below. Please use an automatic translation for websites if you can not speak or read English (but we welcome contributions in other languages!).

You can send us a video (preferably in landscape format, not longer than 2 minutes), a selfie with text, or a voice message (preferably with a selfie, but this is not essential) via WhatsApp to the number +436603444296 :

It is best to speak in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, or Arabic, but we will try to translate other languages automatically.

We would also like to use the selfies connected to your text or voice messages for a book and a traveling exhibition (both will be available as free PDF downloads).

You can also post your video publicly on YouTube or Instagram if you want. Please use the hashtag #parenting_film so that others can find it (but we won't search very often for it, you have to send your contribution to us via WhatsApp so we know we can use it).

Unfortunately, we cannot pay you for your contribution. This is not a commercial film project (it will be shown at film festivals and later publicly on YouTube), but rather a project intended to stimulate discussion about the principles of child-rearing in different countries around the world.

These are the 8 questions we are looking for contributions to our film project (you don't have to answer all of them, but the questions 7 and 8 are important):

1 What do you think are the important principles for raising children well?

2 Did you have a happy childhood yourself, or do you view your parents' parenting critically?

3 Would you like to raise your own children the way your parents raised you, or would you like to do things differently?

4 What should you do when children misbehave?

5 Did you know that corporal punishment of children is already prohibited by law in around a third of the world's countries?

6 Did you experience corporal punishment yourself as a child?

7 Do you think a country can become peaceful when already hitting children is permitted by law?

8 Do you think the whole world can become peaceful if violence in child rearing is permitted in two-thirds of its countries?
